Nature is self made machine, more
perfectly automated than any automated
machine. To create something in the
image of nature is to create a machine and was by learning the inner working of
nature that man became a builder of machine.
Our future success is mostly related
to computer science branch. This branch can bring revolution in all other fields.
Machine learning is one of the field of computer science that gives the
computer the ability to learn without being explicitly programmed.
This field is not yet so exploited. It is going through negative
criticism that it would decrease in jobs, i.e human resources will lose its
significance but there is no lack in its encouragement. People from other
fields have embraced it.
Some of the evidences are mentioned as follows:-
1. A
breakthrough that machine learning would
be worth of ten Microsoft’s (Bill Gates, Chairman Microsoft).
2. Machine
learning is the hot new thing ( John Hennessy, President Stanford).
3. Web
ranking today are mostly a matter of machine learning ( Prabhaker Raghvan, Dir.
Research, Yahoo).
4. Machine Learning is going to result in a real revolution.( Greg
Papadopolous, Foemer Ceo, Sun).
The term Machine Learning was coined by American pioneer Arthur Samuel
in 1959. It explores the study and construction of algorithm overcome following
program instructions by making data
driven predictions as decisions, trough building a model from sample inputs.
Machine Learning is employed in a range of
computing tasks where designing and programming explicit algorithms with good
performance is difficult or infeasible, example applications include email
filtering, detection of network intruders or malicious insidious, working
towards a data breach, learning to rank and computer vision.
Machine Learning is closely related to
Computational Statistics, which also focuses on prediction making through the
use of computers. It has a strong ties to the Mathematical Optimization which
delivers methods, theory and application domains to the field. Machine Learning
is sometimes conflated with data mining where the latter sub field focuses more
on exploratory data analysis and known as unsupervised learning. Machine
Learning can also be unsupervised and be used to learn and establish baseline behavioral profiles for various entities and then used to find meaningful
anomalies.
Within the field of data analytics,
machine learning is a method used to devise complex models and algorithms that
lends themselves to prediction, in commercial use this is known as prediction
analytics. These analytical models allow researchers, data scientists,
engineers, and analysts to produce reliable repeatable decisions and results
and uncover insights through learning
from historical relationships and trends in data.
Humans resists the change but machines don’t
even the best technologies run out of the race with time .So, we have to always
welcome the new technology with praising comments. The thing we should remember
is that it’s always darkest before dawn .
